Donate Life Florida and the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FSHCC) today announced a landmark partnership to raise awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation across Florida’s vibrant Hispanic communities. Grounded in shared values and a mutual commitment to community well-being, the collaboration will deliver culturally-relevant educational materials, joint outreach and pathways to empower Floridians to make informed, life-saving decisions.

Donate Life Florida is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating Floridians about the life-saving impact of organ, eye and tissue donation and inspiring more residents to register as donors. The organization manages Florida’s official donor registry.
More than one in four of the 6,000 Floridians awaiting a life-saving transplant are identified as Hispanic, yet awareness gaps remain. Recent statewide research confirms strong willingness among Hispanic Floridians to register as donors once they receive clear, trusted information — reinforcing the potential impact of this partnership. Donate Life Florida and the FSHCC will serve as a bridge between life-saving information and Florida communities.
“We’re honored to partner with the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to ensure more Florida families have access to clear, trusted information about the life-saving impact of organ, eye and tissue donation,” said Patricia L. Darrigan, Chair, Donate Life Florida. “This partnership reflects our commitment to reaching every community with a message that can enhance and extend lives.”

Through this partnership, Donate Life Florida and the FSHCC will work together to develop Spanish-language materials on the donation and registration process, and engage business leaders and communities across Florida to help ensure more Hispanics in Florida have the information they need to make personal, life-saving decisions.

“For 26 years, the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has worked to ensure that our community thrives economically and in every dimension of our lives,” said Julio Fuentes, the chamber’s founder and CEO. “This partnership is a natural extension of our mission and legacy of leadership into a new and vital arena: the health and well-being of the communities they serve.’”
